Samaris have released a video for Góða tungl. I really like it. Its definitely a late night song, all trip-hop beats and gentle vocals. Its luscious. I have recently interviewed Samaris for Iceland Review, and I can’t wait to see them at Airwaves.

A polar bear has been spotted in Vatnsnes, North Iceland. Tourists apparently saw the bear swimming in the sea, and footprints have been found on a beach in the area. This is not an actual photo. If found, the Icelandic authorities will be faced with the usual dilemma- what to do with it. The last […]
The latest Sigur Rós video has landed. I have to say, I’m really enjoying this Mystery Film Experiment. This one is from arni and kinski who have had a long relationship with sigur rós, having directed the videos for viðrar vel til loftárása, gobbledigook, glósóli and hoppípolla. Anyway, I like this one too.

After a long day driving along Iceland’s extraordinary South Coast it was with a little relief that I pulled into the sleepy coastal village of Stokkseyri, my last stop for the day. Not only was I ravenous, but it had been an extremely hot day by Icelandic standards; blue skies had stayed clear all day, […]

It is super luxurious; not too thick but really nicely made out of the finest Icelandic wool by Farmers Market. It even smells […]
I spent the weekend in Heimaey, and it was absolutely gorgeous. The weather wasn’t bad either; I even got myself a suntan.
Most of my Twitter followers seemed to like my cute puffin post, but there has been a challenger. This person, who shall remain nameless, has posted a pretty damn fine photo of his own. In reply, I give you this:
This was taken during my jaunt to Grímsey this weekend (more of that later), I just wanted to share this cute little fellow. I might just enter him into this competition. I could do with one million ISK. Partly to pay for that trip to Grímsey.
Guðfinnur Sveinsson from rising post-rock stars For A Minor Reflection on Sigur Rós, new Icelandic music, Airwaves and strip poker. During one long winters night a couple of years ago, following possibly a couple of Icelandic beers, and definitely to escape the savage freezing rain falling from the sky, a couple of my Icelandic pals […]
